Members receive regular newsletters via email, and our website has a calendar of upcoming events. We also have a members-only section where you can access the latest news and updates.
FWFC offers two levels of membership. Flying Membership requires a one-time membership initiation fee of $300, and then regular dues of $115 (membership dues $75 and member insurance assessment $40) will begin on the first day of the subsequent month. Sim-Only members pay an initiation fee of $100 and pay monthly dues of $25.
No, unfortunately we are unable to pro-rate membership dues or initiation fees. Note: The member initiation fee combines the new member initiation with the monthly dues for the first month or remainder thereof for the month of joining.
We do not offer family membership. Each person logging flight time must be a member of the club.
All billing is done through our online scheduler, Flight Circle. Dues are collected on the 1st of each month. Aircraft rental is paid for at the completion of each flight during check-in. All members must have a valid credit/debit card on file and set up for autopay. All payments must be made via a debit/credit card through Flight Circle and accrue a small service fee of 3.5%. ACH payments will be coming in the near future and will be processed without an added service fee.
Yes, all members must carry a non-owned renters insurance policy which carries a hull coverage of $10,000 to the non-owned aircraft. This insurance is primarily used in the case of hangar rash incidents while moving aircraft in and out of the hangar.
We use a system called Flight Circle which handles all the scheduling of the aircraft, as well as any maintenance squawks.
Yes, we have club instructors available for checkouts, Flight Reviews, and other instruction. As a member you will work directly with them on scheduling and payments. Each instructor sets their own rates and works independently of the club, however FWFC requires all instructors providing instruction in club aircraft to also be members.
To become an instructor at FWFC you must first become a club member. After joining you can schedule a CFI checkout with one of our other club CFIs. Upon completion of the checkout flight, you will submit a CFI application to the club office board for review and approval. If approved, you will need to first complete a short orientation with the club president, or someone else appointed to go over the expectations of club CFIs. Once complete, you will be a club approved instructor and will be able to offer your service to other FWFC members.
No, the club leases the aircraft usually from other club members. Each aircraft is on a 30–day auto renewing lease.
Visit our membership section and complete and submit a membership application to FWFC. If approved you will be given access to our online scheduler, Flight Circle. There, you can pay your initiation fee and reach out to a club instructors to schedule a checkout or other training needs.
Yes, the club hosts monthly club meetings, and from time to time we try to get together and fly to lunch or some other activity.
Yes, we do allow overnight flights using our 24 hour rule: For overnight flights, there will be a minimum charge of 3 hours for every 24 hour period that the aircraft is checked out. For example, if the aircraft is dispatched at noon on Saturday and checked in at 1pm on Sunday, that would be a total of 25 hours and therefore would span two 24-hour periods requiring a minimum charge of 6 hours. The 24-hour rule will be based on dispatch time to check-in time in Flight Circle. If the aircraft is not dispatched before engine start, then the start time of the reservation will be used.
