Joaquin Barron – FWFC Flying Member/Club Instructor – Commercial ASEL, CFI

Hi guys, my name is Joaquin Barron. I’ve been a member and club instructor with the Fort Worth Flying Club for a few months now and have held membership in the past as well. I’ve been around aviation since the age of twenty. For me, it started off with a weird temptation after a commercial flight on a family vacation. A few years later while on my way out of high school I had no idea what I wanted to do but had that itch for airplanes and flying.

After my first year of college, I decided the degree I was pursuing was not the right fit for me, so I found a local flight school and signed up to do a discovery flight, and as they say, the rest was history. I earned my Private Pilot certificate within four months and my instrument rating several months later. As with many other aviators, life got in the way. A few years later I was back on track when I found the Fort Worth Flying Club. I joined the club and began flying the club’s Piper Warrior II, for which I ultimately completed my Commercial Single Engine certificate.

The club has been a great place to be and has personally helped me save a lot of money along the way, without sacrificing on the quality of training, the people or aircraft. It’s also one of, if not the only, true flying club in the local area that has a common area with resources for its community of aviators to use to brief and debrief flights, conduct ground lessons, or even to just hang out at that isn’t just under the wing of one of the planes, oh and did I mention it’s also air conditioned and has two restrooms! Not only have I saved myself money, but I have made friendships and connections that will last a lifetime. I am now a club approved flight instructor and am excited to embark on this journey of using my knowledge and experience to help fellow club members and other pilots reach their goals, while at the same time I work towards becoming a professional pilot. I’ll see you guys in the sky!
