Coming Together to Support Air Traffic Controllers
Nov 12, 2025

When the skies are busy, air traffic controllers are the unseen heroes who keep everyone safe – guiding aircraft through crowded airspace, coordinating landings, and maintaining calm even in chaos. During the recent government shutdown, many of these dedicated professionals found themselves working without pay, keeping the aviation system running purely out of duty and pride.

In response, members of the FWFC came together to show our appreciation. What started as a small idea to bring restaurant gift cards to our controllers quickly grew into a community effort. A big thank you to Michelle Storm for organizing everything and to all the members who contributed. The outcome was amazing, and the controllers’ gratitude made it all worthwhile.

It was a wonderful reminder that aviation isn’t just about airplanes – it’s about people supporting one another. Even small acts of kindness can make a big difference, and we’re proud of our members for stepping up to support those who keep us safe in the skies.

Special thanks to Michael Varner for capturing the great photo of the KFTW control tower!
