Club Volunteer Day: Hangar Revamp
Oct 30, 2024

Next time you come to the hangar, you’ll probably notice a few changes—thanks to our club volunteers who helped out on October 26th.

Our team cleaned out the hangar and repainted lines. (You’ll find it much easier to back the planes in, now.) They re-striped the tie-down Ts and sealed portions of the ramp, and painted some portions black.

It was a lot of work, but it was fun all the same. It was a great opportunity to chat, connect, and get to know each other. Some of us found we had other interests in common besides aviation. This is what it means to be a community—working together for a cause we all love, and making friends along the way.

This small, but dedicated, group, helped to keep our costs down so that we can continue offering safe, fun, and affordable flying opportunities for all our members. So be sure to thank them next time you see them:

– Jason Meadows (President)
– John Landrum (Vice President)
– Jon Connelly
– Chris Clark
– John David Buchanan
– Gaetano Rotolo

Some projects that didn’t get finished include resealing a portion of the ramp and fixing that hole in the floor.  To help out with these, please be on the lookout for an email announcing the next club volunteer day, check the event calendar on the website, or contact one of the officers to let them know you’re available.

If you didn’t make it out this time around, you really don’t know what you’re missing! These club volunteer days give you a chance to really feel a sense of pride and ownership in the community. And remember, “many hands make light work”. Join us next time—you won’t regret it!
